Horta Fish Market in New Bedford

Wasn't crazy about it. The batter was too crispy. I had hoped for the traditional English batter but they didn't use it. The stuffed quahog was very small with no seafood taste. The clams had no bellies just necks and were flavorless.

Food ok but can be better

Very greasy good. The waiting time to get take out is outrageous. Waited 20 minutes at the restaurant after waiting another 25 at home. Never going there again. Food is really greasy.

Shrimp Mozambique is terrific. Fried clams, fish and chips excellent. Great prices. Good wait staff. Little, plain and terrific.

This is a nice little place to visit when you get the chance. Food is always fresh good portions very reasonable prices wonderful owners

My go to place for fish and chips. The clam chowder is great too! I can't go visit my parents out of town without bringing some or I get turned away at the door!😉

It's hard to get two New Englanders to agree about a restaurant. Everybody has their own favorite places.I have to agree with everyone else that Horta's Restaurant is the number one place to get a seafood dinner.For once, I can say that there is nothing which needs change or improvement.Horta's is a true gem that locals (like me) agree about. If you are visiting from somewhere else, please don't ruin the place. It's a unique New Bedford experience that cannot be compared by any other yardstick.

Best fish and chips for over 20 years

It was wonderful, the people are so nice, loved the clam chowder and the fish and chips so much! Practically no wait at all.

Food is great visited this place and they price gauged me can’t believe it make sure you ask for the prices before hand. For a small plate of beans $7.99 rip off, last time I ordered it it was only $4.00 depends on who serves you! Watch Them!

Grew up in New Bedford and now live in Gloucester. By far they make the best fish-n-chips at a good price. Always my take out place when I'm in New Bedford

This restaurant has declined badly! My scallops had been frozen, all watery when fried and served, service was slow and the takeout food we brought home looked as if it were half portions for full price.This was at one time one of my favorite seafood restaurant s but no more will not go back!

A real people kind of place. You come here because you want great food made by caring people served by wonderful staff! Come as you are or dress like royalty, you all fit in. Nobody cares how they look, we just want a great meal. It's located in a tough neighborhood but don't worry, everybody eats here so its well protected.
